"Moon Mountain Vodka is the creation of master distiller Gerry Webb of Diageo, a huge wine and spirits conglomerate that either owns or represents dozens of wineries and distilleries all over the world. Webb’s own background includes stints at I.W.Harper, Smirnoff, Ciroc, George Dickel, and several others as part of his oversight of the Diageo catalog. On a visit to California’s Moon Mountain Winery, he became inspired to try an artisanal, “small-batch” approach to spirits; an approach which would, presumably, yield similar results to those of a small-lot winery. Moon Mountain Distillery, then, wears its inspiration on its sleeve, while moving the whole process to Indiana and Minnesota, a little closer to the source of the 100% organic corn that Webb uses exclusively. MM Vodka is certified organic and applies the purest techniques of the distiller’s craft to a scale of production that, to be honest, should really remove it from the ranks of “small-batch” distillers."
